IMX335 5 Megapixel Camera Module - The First Choice for HD Imaging Solutions
The IMX335 is a high-performance CMOS image sensor from Sony, renowned in the industry for its excellent low-light performance and high-definition image quality. austar has developed a camera module based on this sensor, incorporating advanced optical design and signal processing technology to provide users with a professional-grade image capture solution.

The module adopts a 1/2.8-inch optical format, 6.52mm diagonal CMOS image sensor with 5 megapixels (2592×1944 resolution) and a single pixel size of 2.0μm×2.0μm. The large pixel design allows the sensor to maintain an excellent signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in low-light environments, with a measured SNR1s value as low as 0.33 lx, which means the module can capture clear and usable images even in low light.

In terms of interface, Austar provides a variety of configuration options, including MIPI-CSI2 interface, USB interface (support UVC protocol, plug and play), etc., which makes it convenient for users to choose the most suitable connection method according to different application scenarios. The module also supports a variety of lens interface standards, such as M12×P0.5, M16×P0.5 and CS interfaces, so that users can flexibly match lenses with different focal lengths according to the needs of the field of view.

It is worth mentioning that the IMX335 module has been designed with the convenience of system integration in mind. The standard 15pin FPC user interface design allows the module to easily access popular embedded platforms such as Raspberry Pi and NVIDIA Jetson. At the same time, the module supports 5V and 3.3V dual power inputs with automatic switching function, which greatly simplifies the user's power design work.

Optics and Lens Configuration
Austar provides a variety of lens options for the IMX335 module to meet the needs of different application scenarios. The standard configuration uses the 50101YT lens with the following optical characteristics:
Focal length: 4.46mm ± 5%
Aperture: F1.65±10%, large aperture design significantly improves low-light performance
Lens structure: 3G5P (3 glass + 5 plastic), balancing cost and optical quality
Field of view: 88.9° diagonal, 69.0° horizontal, 50.8° vertical

For applications requiring wide-angle coverage, we offer the HS-108W lens option, which has a field of view of 122° ± 5%, 107° ± 5% horizontal, and 89° ± 2% vertical.3 This lens is specially designed with a low aberration optical structure, with an aberration rate of only 2.6%.3 This is much lower than the 25-30% aberration of a normal wide-angle lens, making it ideal for application scenarios requiring precise image measurement.

The lenses are made of high-quality optical materials to ensure stable optical performance under various environmental conditions. All lenses are rigorously optically calibrated and fixed-focus reinforced to prevent performance drift after prolonged use.

Physical Characteristics and Interface Design
Austar's IMX335 camera module features a compact design for easy integration into a variety of devices.
In terms of interfaces, the modules offer a wealth of connection options:
MIPI-CSI2 interface: 15pin FPC connector, contains 2 data channels, supports CSI-2 YUV422-8bit data type
USB interface (optional): UVC-compliant, plug-and-play, supports 5MP 30FPS or 1080P 30fps output
I2C control interface: 3.3V level, for sensor parameter configuration
IR-CUT control interface: 2pin 3.3V motor drive interface, support for external IR cut-off filters
Day and night switching signal interface: compatible with 3.3V-12V input level, low level trigger black and white mode

Flexible module power supply design, support 5V and 3.3V dual power input, when both power supply will automatically switch to 5V power supply. Under typical working condition, the power consumption is about 1.6W, and the maximum power consumption is 2.1W at the moment of IRCUT switching, which is excellent in energy efficiency.
